Phelim's Place

 Phelim likes a challenge.

He has a small piece of ground just beside his house on which he intends to put a polytunnel and he has a few beds ready for planting spuds and vegetables.

There's only one small problem here. Phelim lives at the very edge of Trawbreaga Bay, between the main road and the sea. Where he intends to put his polytunnel, there's a lovely crop of reeds. See picture. His next door neighbours are wild ducks. He has an unusually large herd of slugs.

Phelim has happily agreed to let us do a 'before and after' special on his project, and he knows it's not going to be a picnic, so stay tuned...

Update, 1 year on...

Things are moving, well, not so fast, really. Pheilim has had a trerrible year, everything he plants gets eaten. Even when he's not on holidays abroad, those pesky slugs just walk in and eat everything. I mean, you'd think they'd have the decency to wait till Pheilim's not there...
Progress has been less than spectacular on the polytunnel front too.

Progress, year 2

Now things are looking much better. As well as getting the tunnel up, Phelim has built a ramp so that he can get in a tractor and potato planter. 10 minutes planted the spuds.
Now it's just...well, everything else to do!
Good luck with that Phelim, we'll be back during the growing season to see how it's going.
