Liam's place

Picture
Liam has a mixed farm near Carndonagh where he keeps cows, ducks and hens. He also owns an old watermill which is still in use providing electricity for his house. The generator is powered by a millrace which is an ideal place to keep ducks! Liam also grows vegetables for the family.

Liam's son builds 'A' frame chichen houses and Liam uses some of these to move the hens around his garden. These are sometimes known as 'chicken tractors' because of the amount of work the chickens do for you: Digging, cleaning, debugging and, of course, manuring the area the house is currently covering. Liam's farm is a great example of PERMACULTURE methods in action.

Liam also owns a beautifully restored traditional thatched cottage, and he rents it out in the Summer months. You couldn't imagine a more ideal place to get in touch with nature.
